What to expect from the trip?
  • We are going to snorkel/freedive next to humpback whales in the ocean and live on uninhabited island Uoleva
Tonga is a unique place: here that the migration path of humpback whales from Antarctica is pumped, here females give birth and raise their cubs, and here you can swim with these giants at a distance of five meters right in the open ocean - Tonga is rightfully considered the best place for this in the world!

Humpback whales finish their migration path from Antarctica here, so that females could give a birth and raise their cubs. And here you can swim with these giants at a distance of five meters right in the open ocean - Tonga is considered the best place in the world for this kind of things! This program is very different from all you can find: we are going to live in an exclusive Serenity eco-hotel on a small desert island, it's difficult to find any people living here - this place is so unique that it is impossible to book anything here in years! That means there will be only us in the ocean with the whales!

Our guides will be Erez Beatuz (world famous freediving instructor and underwater photographer). Erez is very protective of whales, which is why we work with him in Tonga. In the morning, you can enjoy a yoga session with Erez or his wife, Allegra.

Itinerary
Day 1
Fly from Tongatapu to Ha'apai on a local airline. We’ll meet you at Ha'apai Airport and transfer you to the pier (about 20 minutes). Our boat may take us straight to whale watching, so have your masks and fins ready! Afterward, we’ll arrive at our island by 4:00 PM and check into our hotel. In the evening, enjoy dinner, go over the week’s plans, reflect on your first whale encounters, and get a well-deserved nap.

This itinerary may change depending on your domestic flight schedule. Swimming with the whales on this day cannot be guaranteed.
Days 2-3
At 7:15 AM, our guide Erez or his wife, Allegra, leads a light yoga session (participation is optional).

At 8:15 AM, we’ll have breakfast—you can order muesli, fruit, scrambled eggs, pancakes, or all three.

At 9:15 AM, we’ll gather on the beach and board our boat for a day of whale watching. We split into two subgroups of four people and take turns diving with the whales. This helps avoid disturbing them, and local laws allow no more than four people (plus a guide) in the water with the whales at a time.

Around 1:00 PM, we’ll have a light lunch on the boat or on a deserted island.

At 4:00 PM, we’ll return to the hotel to relax, and at 7:00 PM, a hearty candlelit dinner awaits.
Day 4
Sunday is an official holiday in Tonga, and work is prohibited—so we get to rest too. But not all day! In the morning, anyone can join the hotel staff on a boat trip to a neighboring island to attend mass at a Catholic or Protestant church and enjoy the delightful chants of the congregation. We’ll also stop for lunch with some locals.

After lunch, we’ll explore the island’s authentic jungle, where we’ll learn about the legends surrounding the ancient local structures—the pyramids—and discover new ways to enjoy different parts of the familiar coconut.

Day 5-7
Whales!

Day 8
Today we will fulfill the social mission of our project. We will get to a neighboring island's village and meet local families. Did you know almost every local doesn't know how to swim. Our goal is to fix this. We will teach kids how to swim with a mask and fins!

After lunch, transfer to Ha'apai airport.
In the evening - flight to Tongatapu island and international flight on next day.
