Kamchatka wild nature tour: meet the bears, orcas, whales and volcanos

For those of you who want to get a glimpse of real wild Russian nature we've planned a 12 day trip to Kamchatka, where you'll be able to approach wild animals as close as it's ever going to get, observing them in their natural habitat.

Come along to spend 3 days at the South Kamchatka Federal Reserve near the Kuril lake watching numerous brown bears hunt spawning salmon along with other smaller animals like Kamchatka groundhogs and ground squirrels. It's time to start getting into bird-watching, too – you'll see some species that are unique to the area.

The next part of the tour is just as exciting: we're setting out for a 2 day cruise along the coast of Kamchatka with FEROP research group (Far East Russia Orca Project) to make more shots and watch numerous marine animals. We'll listen to biologists' lectures enjoying our stay at the "Bering" catamaran and then find ourselves swimming among the animals we've just heard so much about. It's a wonderful opportunity to observe orcas in their natural habitat for those who love both animals and science. It's not just orcas, though. We might also see whales as the south-eastern coast of Kamchatka is a place where whale sightings are really frequent. Let alone dozens of sea otters and seals. Finally, you just can't miss a chance to climb Mutnovsky and Avachinskiy volcanoes – the trekking routes we've planned are not difficult and require no special training. The emotions you'll get from it are hard to find words to describe, though.
