What to expect
The northernmost archipelago of Eurasia
Franz Josef Land is the most remote, isolated and hard-to-reach archipelago in Eurasia. There are no people, roads or airports here, but there are polar bears, walruses, whales, icebergs and incredibly beautiful landscapes. You can only get here by ship, and only a few lucky people have had the chance to visit.
Expedition ship "Professor Molchanov"
During the expedition, our home will be the legendary research vessel Professor Molchanov. The ship's steel hull has special ice reinforcement, providing excellent protection when sailing in polar waters, and the ship's autonomy reaches 70 days. The ship is equipped with boats for landings and cruises. There is a library and a sauna on the ship.
Which animals we may see?
We will have the opportunity to see many rare and unique animals, including:
  • polar bears
  • walruses
  • seals - seals and sea hares
  • bowhead whales, minke whales, fin whales, humpback whales
  • beluga whales
  • if you are lucky, you can see the legendary narwhals
Lectures
In addition to exciting adventures, educational programs await you. Our guides will tell you about whales, seals, walruses and polar bears, you will learn how icebergs are formed and why the temperature in the Arctic changes faster than anywhere else. You will hear stories about expeditions of past years and learn how to live for a month in an isolated group of people.
Polar research stations
We will visit several abandoned and operating polar stations, learn about the history of the Arctic exploration and the life of polar explorers.
Icebergs
We will see majestic icebergs, glaciers and incredible landscapes of the northernmost archipelago in the Eastern Hemisphere.
